“Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable – if anything is excellent or praiseworthy – think about such things.”

Philippians 4:8 NIV.

If you do nothing but stare at the ugliness of the world, you can get tunnel vision that sucks you into that dark place.

Yes, we live in a fallen world. Sin is running rampant. Evil is on the loose, and the enemy is on the prowl.

You can be aware of those things without fixating on them. You can take them directly to God, casting all things that cause you anxiety onto Him.

Ask God to send His holy angels to stand guard. Rebuke Satan, all demons, and all spirits contrary to the Holy Spirit in Jesus’ name.

Plead the blood of Jesus Christ over your family, yourself, and all others according to the Holy Spirit’s leading.

Get your armor on and stand firm as you go about your day.

Then, begin to fix your eyes on what’s lovely and pure. Think about what’s excellent and praiseworthy.

Doesn’t your Heavenly Father fit those descriptions? Think about Him and His love for you. Soak in His Word. Remember all Jesus Christ has done for you and reflect on your personal history with Him – what He’s done in your past.

Oh, precious soul. Almighty God is waiting for you throughout this day. He’s already gone ahead of you, planting blessings and encouragement. He has exciting things for you to do. New adventures. A full and abundant life tailor-made for you.

So, when you focus on God instead of the darkness, you’ll have a radiance about you that will light up any dark tunnel the world tries to drag you down.

You’ll also have plenty of hope to share. ❤️
