Reach Out

“But you, dear friends, build yourselves up in your most holy faith and pray in the Holy Spirit. Keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life. Be merciful to those who doubt; snatch others from the fire and save them…”

(Jude 20-23a NIV.)

If you can reach out to just one person today, the one individual God brings to mind, do it.

You have no idea how many times a phone call interrupted a devastating act. You don’t know how dropping in on someone stopped that person from abandoning all hope.

You have no idea what your kind words mean to a hurting soul who is pulling back because everything seems to hurt.

Discouragement, depression, and loneliness can overtake a person, dragging them down a spiral staircase without any handrails.

Perhaps God is going to use you to reach out to that person. Maybe your message or text, your phone call or hug will be the lifeline that keeps that person holding on and looking up.

And when that hurting soul looks up, your hand may be reaching out, but it will be the love of Jesus Christ mirrored in your eyes that gives hope.

Oh, precious soul, you can snatch a life from falling away. Don’t hesitate. Reach out. Make that call. Send that text.

And of course, pray. ❤️
