A Moment to Reflect – Waiting on God

Sometimes you need to wait. As hard as it may be, you can’t force things to happen the way you want or because you think you’re ready for them.

God knows your heart and when you’re ready to receive what He has for you.

Maybe you compare this feeling to standing in front of the microwave or coffee pot, anxiously waiting while you drum your fingers on the counter or pace back and forth.

But what God is working on behind-the-scenes for your life – the things He’s pulling together, the opportunities He’s lining up for you – is going to be so much better than a bag of popcorn or hot coffee.

You really have no idea all that He has in store for you. Oh, you may get a glimpse from time to time. But you’re not going to see it fully until He wants you to see it. Not until it’s ready. Not until YOU are ready.

You may only be aware of a dollop of paint on the canvas while your heavenly Father sees the entire painting He’s been working on.

You’ll just have to trust Him. Be still. No tapping your foot or drumming your fingers either.

The world may try to draw you away from waiting on God with a flurry of activities. But if God told you to wait on Him, then do it. He may be adding the finishing touches to your painting and is about to show it to you. You don’t want to grow impatient and run off, missing that long-awaited moment with Him.

God will reveal your painting, His plan for your life, in His perfect timing.

And when He does, you’re not going to be the only one standing in awe – others will be moved by God’s grand reveal in your life.

Oh precious soul, wait for your heavenly Father. Don’t settle for some fast imitation of the real thing just because there’s no waiting involved. Wait for the original, the masterpiece God is working on for you. It’s going to be extraordinary and it’s going to change lives – starting with your own.♥️

“He has made everything beautiful in its time.”

Ecclesiastes 3:11a.

Deeper Reflection: Read Psalm 27:14.
