“O Lord, you have examined my heart and know everything about me. You know when I sit down or stand up. You know my thoughts even when I’m far away. You see me when I travel and when I rest at home. You know everything I do. You know what I’m going to say even before I say it, Lord. You go before me and follow me. You place your hand of blessing on my head.”
Psalm 139:1-5 NLT.
Sometimes you may feel like you’re just a small detail in a great big world.
Insignificant. Invisible.
But God knows everything about you, every hair on your head and every tear that touches your eyelashes. Nothing about you goes unnoticed. Not a moment goes by that He’s not lovingly attending to your needs.
Of course, you may not realize it. You may even feel unworthy of such attention, but that’s just who God is. He’s the God who created you and loves you more than anyone else ever could.
Remember that on your darkest days, when you feel like you’re sitting alone in a cold and dreadful shadow and the tears won’t stop.
Just imagine the God of all creation coming alongside you and holding you when it feels like the whole world has left.
Everything about you matters to God. You may feel insignificant to this world, but you matter greatly to Him.
Focus on His gentle touch as He wipes those tears while you lean into Him. Listen to Him sing over you, sweetly, softly, like a lullaby. Rocking you in His arms.
Stop fretting and trying to figure everything out. Don’t overthink it.
Just be His child and let Him hold you.
