A Season of Trials

“Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.”

James 1:2-4,12 NIV.

Life isn’t always an easy road to walk. You’re going to get bruised, caught up in briars, and fall at times.

You might feel like you’ve been abandoned, and no one understands how difficult this season of trials is for you.

Perhaps the enemy is ruthlessly attacking you and those you love as he tries to distract, discourage, and stop you.

Oh, precious soul. This may be a season of trials, but God is with you, helping you to stand when you fall and providing the armor and strength you need to endure.

Perhaps you’re exhausted, wondering how long this season will last. Remember, your faith is being tested and God is building you up. That takes time.

And when it all becomes too much and you feel overwhelmed, cry out to God. He wants you to seek Him FIRST for comfort and guidance.

Of course, He provides loved ones to enrich your life and encourage you when the road is long, but when you’re in a dark place going through multiple trials, only God can reach your soul and bring you lasting comfort.

Oh, dear soul. It might not make any sense right now, but there is joy in the trials. It’s not like anything this world understands. It certainly doesn’t make sense to the flesh – broken bodies or wounded hearts.

It’s the joy that comes from persevering and knowing God walks with you and is pleased with your determination to keep walking as you cling to Him.

It’s the joy that comes from pressing on and not backing down or giving in to the enemy who wants you to quit.

It’s the joy that comes from knowing this season of trials is temporary and what you’re accomplishing right now by refusing to give up will be eternal.

It’s the joy of knowing one day you’re going to reach eternity’s threshold and your heavenly Father will wipe away every tear, remove every briar, and brush off all the dirt and mud from the times you stumbled and fell.

And when you receive your crown and you see the reflection of it shimmering in your loving heavenly Father’s eyes, unspeakable JOY will be yours for all eternity. ♥️
