“When the servant of the man of God got up and went out early the next morning, an army with horses and chariots had surrounded the city. ‘Oh, my lord what shall we do?’ the servant asked. ‘Don’t be afraid,’ the prophet answered. ‘Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.’ And Elisha prayed, ‘O Lord, open his eyes so he may see.’ Then the Lord opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.”
2 Kings 6:15-17 NIV.
Sometimes it may seem like everything is working against you, surrounding you with some sort of pressure or heaviness.
Every day feels like a battle.
You can sense it, but you’re not sure what’s going on. All you know is tears come way too easily and anger breaks loose when you didn’t even know it was there.
Oh, precious soul. It’s all part of the spiritual battle waging against you, against every believer who proclaims Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
You are not alone in the battle. The enemy will lie and try to convince you that you’re the only one going through this. Remember:
Your brothers and sisters in Christ are with you on the battleground, standing with you, and praying for you.
Almighty God, your Heavenly Father, has an army of angels (servants who are like flames of fire) He commands to guard and minister to you.
And the Holy Spirit is within you, and He is far greater than the enemy and anything he uses to attack you. All you have to do is be still and listen for the Holy Spirit to direct you and obey Him when He does. He will also comfort and counsel you and bring you peace at times when the enemy tries to surround you with spirits of fear and discouragement.
When the enemy surrounds you in an arrogant and bold attack or subtly from the shadows in quiet and deceptive ways, remember your Heavenly Father has not left you helpless or alone.
He sent His Holy Spirit to lead you, His angels to encamp around you, and His love to surround you – the love of God that is in Christ Jesus. No scheme of the enemy can ever separate you from that.
Remember, Jesus Christ, your Lord and Savior, has defeated the enemy at the cross. Stand your ground, brave soul, and remember the victory is already yours.
