When you wake up, give God a moment.

Listen in your spirit. Keep your eyes closed. Push back the world for a little while.

God will speak to you in gentle whispers.

Can you hear Him?

He might not be speaking in an audible voice but an inner whisper you can hear within your heart. Even a song that might come in a new way. Just for you.

God does communicate with His creation. He knows how to talk to you. To me.

He knows our hearts and what we need. He understands the struggles we’re facing, the daunting tasks ahead.

All He asks is that we pause. Give Him a moment at the beginning of our day.

Before our feet hit the floor and we stumble to the kitchen for the coffee.

Before we reach for our phones and our peace is shattered by a thousand screaming voices clamoring for our attention from inside the tiny little window that overlooks the entire world.

The world is loud, demanding. Arrogant and rude. It can barge in, stay far too long, and expect more than you have to give.

Oh, but God…

God brings you peace. He saturates you in His perfect peace while lavishing His love on you.

You are His precious child.

He sings over you. He quiets your worries. He rejoices over you. And if you keep still for just a moment, you’ll hear Him.

What a beautiful way to wake up.
