“I will remember the deeds of the Lord; yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago.”
Psalm 77:11 NIV.
Sometimes you only need a mental snapshot of a chair, a room, an airport, or a sidewalk to remind you of the place where your heart was wounded and your life was forever changed.
Where the storm and darkness closed in. The place where grief left you breathless as your heart ripped in two or a betrayal brought you down to your knees in shock and disbelief.
Perhaps now you can take a longer look at the snapshot without needing to turn away from the pain to see Someone in the background, another layer to the image in your mind.
God.
You don’t need a lot of words or even total understanding to explain it all, but you KNOW God was with you when things became unbearable, and the painful memory was tacked to the wall in your heart.
He’s how you pulled through, after all.
So later, when the chilling darkness returns and storm clouds threaten on the horizon, you can walk down the familiar street of your memory, knowing around the corner is the snapshot of your faithful God who rescued you before.
And He will do it again. ![]()
